Girl Scout & Brownie Troop Cooking Classes

Tiny Chefs can help you earn your Legacy Cooking Badge!

During these hands-on cooking lessons your scouts will learn to measure, mix, prep, and cook tasty (and healthy!) eats while they complete steps toward earning their Legacy Cooking Badge.

Our instructors travel to your residence with all of the supplies to cook or bake your way to a badge. We will also cover food safety and nutritional information, and supply your troops with printed recipes for them to make the dishes at home. The badge class will last about 1.5-2 hours and the troops will be able to eat what they make at the end of the session!

Each cooking event includes mini water bottles for the children to enjoy with their meals!

Badge Options

Brownie Level

Snacks - For 2nd and 3rd graders
90-minute class $35 per student

Young scouts will have some fun in the kitchen as we create savory, sweet, and energizing snack foods and drinks that kids can easily prepare for themselves at home. Both of the following menus fulfill the requirements for the Brownie Level Legacy Cook Brownie Badge.

Junior Level

Simple Meals - For 4th and 5th graders
2-hour class, $40 per child

Scouts will get hands-on cooking experience as we learn the steps to creating easy, healthy meals at home. The following menu fulfills the requirements for the Legacy Cook Junior Badge.

Cornbread, Veggie Chili, and Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Homemade Pita Chips, Guacamole Chicken Salad Tacos, and Chocolate Banana Pudding

Cadette Level

Cuisines from Around the World - For 6th, 7th and 8th graders
2-hour class, $45 per student

Young Chefs will hone their kitchen skills and explore new cuisines through a hands-on cooking and baking session. Scouts will take a culinary trip around the world as we create three delicious dishes that represent influential cuisines - get ready for Passport Cooking!

Classic Tomato Bruschetta, Indian Chicken Curry, and Sweet Mango Salsa with Homemade Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

OR

Vietnamese Summer Rolls, Stuffed Shells, and Dulce de Leche Brownies

Senior Level

Locavore - For 9th and 10th Graders
2-hour class, $50 per student

Young scouts will learn about the benefits and challenges of cooking locally and seasonally, then whip up tasty dishes with ingredients harvested from nearby farms. At the end of the class they’ll receive a packet of information that lists local farms, as well as the benefits and challenges of going local.

Locavore Eats and Cooking Challenge: Scouts will learn about local foods then create delicious dishes using fresh ingredients.
