Apple Pie Tacos

  • Measuring cups

  • Medium Bowl

  • 4-inch round cookie cutter
  • Large Saute Pan
  • Stove Top

  • 2 Granny Smith apples (finely diced)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon


  • 1 large flour tortilla
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • cooking spray
  • whipped cream


  • caramel sauce
  • white chocolate shavings
  • sprinkles


  1. Prepare apples, core apples and dice into fine pieces

  2. In a large sauté pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.

  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-15 minutes, until the apples are tender and the brown sugar creates a thick glaze. Remove from heat and set aside to cool


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

  2. Using a 4-inch round cookie cutter, cut 4 circles from a large flour tortilla

  3. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Mix until combined

  4. Place one tortilla circle into the bowl and toss until coated. Repeat for the remaining circles

  5. With the greased muffin tin upside down, insert one tortilla piece in between every two muffin cups, repeat until all tacos are in place

  6. Bake for 5-6 minutes, until golden brown

  7. Remove tacos from the oven and spoon cooled apple mixture into them

  8. Top with whipped cream & additional toppings

Take It Down A Notch – This recipe will be easy for a young Prek or Tiny Chef child to complete. Simplify the recipe by having an adult help with dicing up the apples and cooking at the stove. Or by purchasing pre-made apple pie filling.

Kick It Up A Notch – Purchase additional toppings for the tacos. Make a homemade sweetened whipped cream, by whipping heavy cream (1 cup), confectioner’s sugar (2 tbsp), and vanilla extract (1/2 tsp) together.
