In-Home Family Cooking Classes

Dinnertime is one of the most stressful times of the day for many families. Whether you have a picky eater (or 2 or 3!), lots of after-school activities or a limited repertoire, dinnertime can be challenging! Tiny Chefs, DC Metro’s largest provider of children’s cooking programs, can help! Our private Family Cooking Classes will engage your whole family and teach kitchen skills, safety, menu planning and shopping.

Each 2-hour lesson will help families appreciate that if you involve children in meal preparations they become more adventurous eaters, plus it will establish pride in what they create and teach them new skills. When you and your family sign up for your private family lesson, you get to choose from a varied menu of multiple cuisines as you pick an appetizer, a main dish and or dessert. Menu items include:

    • Vietnamese Summer Rolls
    • Classic Tomato Bruschetta
    • Veggie Pot Stickers
    • Chopped Spinach Salad
    • Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Homemade Pita Chips

    • Pad Thai with Chicken or Tofu

Families will learn skills such as safety techniques; meal planning, incorporating math and reading practice into cooking and receive some great recipes to cook as a family.

In-Home Semi-Private Cooking Classes

Semi-Private cooking classes are aimed at parents that would like to hold a cooking class in their home. Invite some of the kids in the neighborhood to join in on the fun!

All students will create three recipes based on one of our themes. Menus can be suggested or they can be chosen by the parent hosting the class. Students receive print outs of recipes that they cook, and gain knowledge to last a lifetime!

We bring all the ingredients, paper products, cooking supplies, dish-washing supplies and beverages. All you need to supply is the location, oven, and sink!
